A lucky star guides you home and brings good fortune. That's what we want Lucky Star Living to be for every participant — a genuine home, provided by people who've done the work across Nowra, Shellharbour and Wollongong.
Lucky Star Living was founded by Zaya, who has worked as an NDIS support worker since 2023 — 3.5 years of direct, frontline experience in a SIL house and in community participation, showing up for early mornings, late nights, and everything in between that good support actually requires.
That hands-on SIL experience shapes how we're building this house: fewer generic policies copied from a template, more attention to the small daily details that make a house feel like a home — routine, dignity, and participants having a genuine say in how their day runs.
We're a small, hands-on provider by design. One house, done properly, before we consider another.
The name comes from the idea of a lucky star — a guide home that brings good fortune with it.
Focused on getting these two things right, before we look at adding anything else.
Overnight and daytime support in a shared home — help with daily personal care, medication support, meal preparation, household tasks, and building everyday living skills, tailored to each participant's support needs and funding.
Support to get out and be part of community life — social outings, recreational activities, appointments, and building connections and confidence outside the home.
Three things we're not willing to compromise on, whatever else changes as we grow.
Support is built around each participant's own routine and goals — not a house-wide schedule imposed on everyone.
Every worker — employed or subcontracted — holds current NDIS Worker Screening clearance and is trained for the specific support needs of the house.
Small, deliberately staffed houses so participants see familiar, trusted faces — not a rotating cast of strangers.
We're establishing our first house within this stretch of the NSW South Coast and Illawarra — exact location to be confirmed as we finalise our registration and property.
We'd rather build a relationship with coordinators early than turn up cold once we're registered. If you've got a participant who might suit a small, attentive SIL house in this region down the track, we'd welcome the conversation now.
We are actively working through NDIS provider registration for the SIL registration group (certification pathway), including High Intensity Daily Personal Activities and Implementing Behaviour Support Plans.
Registration in progressEmail or call — we're happy to share our model, policies as they're finalised, or meet in person.
As registration and our first house progress, we'll let coordinators who've connected with us know first.
We only want a placement to go ahead if it's genuinely a good fit for the participant.
